So, I never really update this with anything of note. ...And that is still going to be true. Even so, I thought this seemed like a good excuse to post something vaguely, well, personal, rather than just fandom or fanfic related.

...This is really just a post to apologize for the tremendous amount of spam you are about to get from my journal if you have me friended. I'll be posting the first three parts of a six-part fanfic all at once, and I beg your patience with me.

I do have real news, though, and I'm long past time for an update. My friend and I have found an apartment in Castle Rock (some fifty miles or so north of the Springs), and we'll be moving in during the later part of November. ^_^ It's a lovely unit on the first floor, with a nice front porch and a view of the town and the rock that is its namesake. I've been living with my grandmother for a year and four months now, and while I love her dearly, she doesn't need me here anymore. I think she'll miss my cat more than she'll miss me. ^_~

I've been thinking that something in my life needs to change, and this seems like a great opportunity. The rent is more than manageable, for the very first time I can afford laundry hookups, and living with my friend is going to be a lot of fun. ^^ Wish me luck.

Today has been a good day. I finally was able to get that broken filling repaired, my temp agency has found me a job for next week, and Leader-class TFA Megatron was on sale when I went to Target for hairspray. ♥

So I was just watching Blown Away, a movie I originally saw in the theater and really liked (and still really like, as it turns out). And now I have a powerful urge for music by U2, of which I have exactly...none. So I am begging of you, flist, to share your illicit mp3s musical bounty with me.

Does anyone out there have the basic classics? I will love you long time. And share my pie with you. =3

Well, about 95% of my flist seems to have gone to see Wanted last night. As part of the minority, I went to see Wall·E instead. It was lovely. And it was So. Damn. CUTE. That much cute should simply not be legal in any one movie. ♥♥♥ I think EVE is my new role model, hee. This is one of those rare animated-movie instances in which I truly hope they make a sequel. Possibly more than one.

I'm sure some people will see it as preachy, but the message is never outright stated, and (no spoilers, really) the ending left me with a truly pleasant feeling of hope for a brighter future. I can't say that about many movies I've seen in the last few years. ^_^

In the interest of providing actual content of some sort, netbug009 has incredibly cute Wall·E icons here and here and here. So much happy robot love. <3

Situation update!

The laptop is DOA. However, the hard disk is salvageable, so by some extraordinary miracle of the universe, I haven't lost any of my files. o__O; YAAAAY. My father offered me the loan of his old laptop for the time being, so I'll be transferring enough information to keep on working as (relatively) usual. Whew.

Sorry for jumping the gun, NK. >.< I should be back online either today or tomorrow, in some capacity.

As an addendum, on Friday the 16th I'll be leaving for ten days with my boyfriend in Seattle, during which time I'll be online much less than usual, and possibly only during the day. I'll return on the 27th. ^^

To all the people that usually expect to see me online on a regular basis:

I've had a small...catastrophe. It involved my parents' overexcited dog, a cup of coffee, and my laptop. I've done everything the experts suggest, but it seems to be dead. I'm going to see about getting a replacement tomorrow, but in the meantime, I won't be around. I haven't lost any of my original writing (thank God), but I did lose some uncompleted fanfiction and around five hundred words of the next part of Seven Days. Anything that matters is replaceable, of course, but I really don't look forward to finding all my music again. >.<

lady_oneiros, the episodes you should probably see (if you can find them) are "Overmatch" and "Remorse."

NK...merf. Do you save the logs of our RP sessions? I have lost exactly...all of them. T_T Flarn, I'm pretty sure you've saved all of ours, so when you return, hopefully you will take pity on me and email them to me. Sigh.

Yesterday, the utterly sweet mmouse15 came down to visit me. In the comments for the last posted part of Seven Days, I was being ridiculous and asked for pie as proof of worship. mmouse15 and I planned to meet for lunch, and when she arrived...

SHE ACTUALLY BROUGHT ME PIE. IT IS HOMEMADE. IT IS DELICIOUS PIE IN EXCHANGE FOR WRITTEN SMUT.

I feel like I've won the internetz six times.
